Since the age of computing, viruses have played a role. Whether as a malicious software trying to steal data, or a rootkit by Sony to prevent piracy of media, they have been around.

Within the past few months, threats like VBS.Solow, VBS.Psyme, and many other VBS & Batch File worms have emerged. Because .VBS & .BAT files are open-sourced, any script-kiddies or basically anyone can open them in notepad, make minor changes, release them, and just like that a new variant is released.

VBS.Solow.A first started being known as the "TAGA LIPA ARE!" virus.
It changed the Internet Explorer title to "TAGA LIPA ARE!".

Later in the following weeks, new variants began to emerge, where people simply changed the filenames used, and the IE Title to "Hacked by Godzilla!".
With threat variants coming out quickly like so, it is possible for 500 variants or more to be produced rapidly by any virus making organizations.

These emerging threats are ones to keep an eye out for, as they can be very easy to modify or to make. I found a newly discovered .BAT worm that spreads using removable media (Floppies, Flash Drives, PSPs, Camera, Etc...) and also spreads through P2P File Sharing clients. This also shows the negative effects of P2P Programs, but that's another story.

If you believe you have been infected by a malicious VBS or BAT Worm not listed below, please feel free to compress it to a .RAR, and email it to the ANETGames Virus Analyzation Labs at ANETGames@gmail.com. This will help ANETGames gather further information on the virus and also distribute it to other AV Companies. If you do not wish it to be distributed, please note so in the email.

Sincerely,
ANETGames
